Human faces are a recurrent theme in Miglena’s artwork. This painting’ serie of an anonymous man expresses at the same time the universality of human emotions and yet their singularity. Through her art Miglena wants to break the mould, the standardisation of our society so famously depicted in George Orwell’s novel 1984. 

The same  face is reproduced but each time the artist brings something new out of it, in a perpetual rediscovery of this human being that is staring at us. To quote Miglena « When I feel that the eyes in my painting are looking at me, I realize that the painting is almost complete. »
